I'm wondering, how hard it would be to support systems with 2, 4 or in future even more cores? Especially in late game, when there's a lot to calculate, I think it would be really useful.

AIs already run as separate processes, which I believe should automatically take advantage of multi-core processors.

There could be a AI-process for every AI-Player, so the system should be able to use all cores.

I think AI is the only component which takes advantage of more CPU-Power. The GUI is one big factor which could possibly be optimized, since it consumes almost all available CPU-Power for now.
