So what changes are going to be added to the game for v 0.4?

I made a short list of things I'd like to see:
1: Implement the "Wheel of worlds" idea

Basically it was a way of setting things so that the max pop of your worlds was a function of a raace setting. In your race options you choose a planet type that your race finds ideal. the farther a world is from your ideal the lower the population you can have on it.

2: Make it so you can add things to a planet's production by double clicking on the planet picture. It's annoying to have to sort through 30+ star systems to find the one you want when you can go to the galactic map and click on it.

3: This stuff:

Doing this would require there to be some concept of races in the game first, which is a rather significant discussion in of itself... So you're a bit ahead of the game there (and races are scheduled until v0.8 anyway...)

Uhm... you lost me. Firstly, it's not possible to "add things to a planet's production" at all... there's only one production queue for the whole empire, not one for any particular planet alone. But assuming you knew that and mean enqueuing something to be built at a paritulcar planet, then if you can go to the galactic map and click, why do are you instead sorting through 30+ star systems and then complaining about it? And do you mean actually add things to the queue to be built at a particular planet just by double clicking on the planet, or just opening the production screen in such a way as to allow further clicks to do the adding? ... It seems unlikely that a single double-click could ever be enough to do a full enqueue order which requires a location AND a choice of what to build, in addition to an ordering on the queue and possibly a number of things to build in some cases...

I was thinking of something like that. What I was thinking of would let you open the production queue by double clicking on one of the spinning planet pictures. And set the queue pointer thing to that planet so that all you'd need to do is decide what to build. Granted it's not really a big improvement, but I think it'd make the controls a bit more intuitive.

Last time i checked, you had to select a planet before you could add a ship to the production queue....

Ok, that makes sense. I suspect we'll have some other use for double-clicking on a planet though... like opening a planet detail window that's unrelated to production. It might be possible to make the planet detail window sufficiently small that they can both be open simultaneously though... say showing the planet info at the top centre of the screen instead of the project info box that's there now, in which case double clicking the planet could open the production view and select that planet and show that planet's info at the top centre. In that case, clicking a planet while the production view was already open would also show the planet details at the top. I worry a bit that this might be info overload or too much clutter though... and that it might be better to have the planet info window be separate. Will need some mockups and thought and testing, I suppose.

And after doing so, you enqueue to the global queue, not to a separate queue for just that planet.
