 Post subject: "producible items" list

There's a nice little feature where, if you hover over an Item, it tells you if the location can enqueue the item for production. e.g. you need a Shipyard in an Asteroid Belt that you own, in order to build a ship based on an Asteroid hull. If anything's missing, the hover will show you what conditions have PASSED and what conditions have FAILED the test to enqueue.

However, it appears that a few conditions don't appear in the hover, resulting in an un-enqueue'able event with all conditions apparently PASSED; in particular, I wanted to build a Colony Ship from a race (Trenchers) that wouldn't "cooperate." :x :evil: :? :cry:

Or am I missing something...?

All the conditions listed in the "location" field are shown. It would probably also be helpful if it checked to see whether or not the species on the selected planet can build ships/colony ships and display that information in the appropriate situation.

Indeed, this is an incomplete features. As Bigjoe5 notes, only the scripted building or ship hull / part location conditions are shown, and not things like the inability of a particular species to produce ships.

We could totally just use tags for that, actually. Then 'HasTag tag = "CAN_COLONIZE"' or whatever would actually be in the list of conditions.

Do I report this somewhere, then? An official "feature request" or a "bug report" or some such?

Or is this discussion, de facto, that report?

There is, actually, on sourceforge, but to my knowledge, just posting on the forums is quicker and easier. There's no need to put this topic on sourceforge now that its been discussed in this thread.
